Travel to Cave Bewah

Travel to Cave Bewah

To get to this Cave, I started by taking a boat from the main jetty at Tasik Kenyir. Lake Kenyir, which is the largest man-made lake in Southeast Asia, offers mesmerizing scenery along the way. Our boat cruised down a calm lake, surrounded by thick tropical rainforest. After about 30 minutes of travel, we arrived at the Gua Bewah area.

Gua Bewah is located on one of the islands in Lake Kenyir. To get to the mouth of the cave, we need to take a boat and once we arrive, we will climb some steps provided. As soon as we arrived at the entrance of the cave, we were greeted with an amazing sight – stalactites and stalagmites adorning the walls and ceiling of the cave, forming a unique rock formation.

The cave is famous for its important archaeological finds. In the 1970s, a group of archaeologists discovered ancient human skeletons believed to be over 16,000 years old. This discovery provides an overview of human life in prehistoric times in this area. In addition, there are also artifacts such as stone tools and pottery found in this cave.

Inside the cave, we can see various interesting rock formations. The light that enters through the small holes in the ceiling of the cave gives a mystical atmosphere and adds to the beauty of this place. Every corner of the cave seems to tell its own story, inviting awe and wonder.

Another thing that caught my attention was the unique ecosystem in this cave. There are several species of bats that make this cave their home. The presence of these bats adds an element of mystery to this already fascinating cave.
